Notes From February.

Was February not the longest, coldest, darkest, worst winter month ever? Maybe I am being dramatic, but I am writing this post on March 1st, and I have to say I am very happy to have February behind me. March 1st feels hopeful…despite the fact that it is snowing outside…

February was far too frigid for my regular style posts, after all, wearing three pairs of pants, three heavy sweaters and many layers of socks all month is not the stuff of style blogging dreams (as per photo number 4 below). I do hope to return to regular programming when things start warming up a little around here.

I am thrilled to say I will be taking off to sunny Las Vegas in a couple of weeks for some BIG wedding festivities. My beautiful cousin Ash is getting married! I cannot wait for the warmth, the fun, and the absolute zero need for layers…I have my little sun dresses packed already…

In the meantime, here are some snaps I took throughout February. We happened to catch a bright, sunny day a few weeks ago (don’t be fooled by the sunny shots, it was literally -30/felt like -40) but we managed to venture out to check out the warming Winter Huts along the beach near our place. The Huts were part of an international design competition, and the winners huts were erected for enjoyment and warmth along our beach. Surprisingly some of the huts were pretty toasty! Some of the other shots include the beautiful orchids TDF got me for Valentines Day, the snow on our patio, a beautiful silk dress I snapped up at a local thrift shop, and some additional winter views from around the lake.

Happy March!
