I love that time between Christmas and New Years Eve…those few days when you can catch your breath from the hustle of Christmas visiting, shopping, wrapping and driving…it may be my favourite part of the holidays, those few days… its the time you can make plans to do absolutely nothing…

Of course I do enjoy the bustle of Christmas though. We split our time between families in Georgetown and the Niagara Region for a couple days each. Even though it sometimes feels like a whirlwind, its nice to have a little time with the people in our lives who we don’t get to see everyday.

Some highlights from my Christmas would have to be; seeing my cousins at our annual family party, playing late night cards (both in Georgetown and the Niagara), passing out completely on grandma and grandpa’s couch after an amazing Christmas dinner (Niagara), receiving the perfect read; How to be Parisian Wherever You Are, which I basically devoured in a day. And the Christmas miracle; one of my families beloved cats had gone missing for four days and returned home safe and sound…

So really these few days in between are meant to reboot…before ringing in the new year. I don’t make big plans for New Years Eve, no waiting in lines or expensive taxi rides for me. Last year we stayed home in pyjamas and ate Chinese food in bed with champagne…bliss…
