This weekend I decided to get serious about my Christmas shopping list. Every year I make it my mission to keep the list simple, but thoughtful…and every year I fail miserably…at least the simple component. It appears the new holiday tradition is to go a little overboard.
The good news is I can officially say I’m done, and with a week or so to spare till Christmas. I will say, every time I thought I had everyone covered, I realized there was one more person I needed to add to the list (ie. a kind neighbor, a co-worker etc.) So to help this end of the list I decided to stock up on little boxes of beautifully wrapped chocolates and a stock of wine, to which I either wrapped in a festive wine box or attached a bow…this way I’m fully prepared with little host/hostess gifts or something thoughtful for the neighbors.
I also would like to bring the idea of ‘keeping it simple’ when thinking about what I would like to wear to upcoming holiday parties. I like taking simple basics (like this light creme sweater) and elevating it with a great coat, some big waves and a pair of heels. As much as I love to really dress up for a party, I hate the idea of being uncomfortable or restricted by my outfit. So elevating everyday basics never fails in my opinion.
